Description:
One of our Dallas County clients is looking to hire a fulltime Data Warehouse Architect to add to their team! As the Data Warehouse Architect, you will assume a key role in the design of Enterprise Information Management solutions. Responsibilities also include research and evaluation of emerging technologies and designing solutions to support business strategies. You will provide and review design on existing and future solutions, will assure proper knowledge transfer to appropriate teams, and will participate in all business projects involving the data warehouse. You will represent your department for the project and development teams, producing technical design, supporting development and ensuring proper turnover to support. Acting as a leader in this area, your strategy must be aligned with the overall software architecture of the Information System, as well as with the operational requirements and business needs. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Defining and documenting the technical architecture of the Data Warehouse and Master Data Domains, including the physical components and their functionality. Providing cost estimates for technical components of project implementations. Analysis of enterprise data warehouse, master data domains, and business intelligence systems, including source data systems, to identify and document complex data mapping, business rule analysis, functional and non-functional requirements. Creating, updating and maintaining project documents such as functional requirements, functional design, data mapping, etc. Working with requirement analysts and solution engineers to bridge business requirements and technical design. Collaborating with Requirements Analysts to translate business requirements into functional specifications. Maintaining leading edge knowledge of industry and technology trends, to effectively assess and recommend options to the project team. Participating in IT application projects, including cross-functional projects serving as the data warehouse Technical Lead Responsible for the technical implementation of Customer and Product Master Data Management Overseeing the technical components including Informatica, .Net, and Biztalk Participating in related projects, from business needs analysis through production delivery, acting as the technical leader and coordinating proper technical design, development and integration of the solution into the existing information system. Oversee contract developers (offshore/onsite) deliverables during the course of a project including: code review, code performance assessment and unit testing to ensure adherence to standards. Complying with the IS Pre-Production team standards in regards to operability of the developed solutions. Complying with the IS Technical Architecture team standards in regards to the global technical framework of the company. Identifying, defining and conducting unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and bench marking. YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in IT, MIS, or equivalent work experience 7 years in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence design in a high volume transaction environment 5 years of Informatica experience Knowledge of Oracle databases and PL SQL required Experience with migration and deployment of code required Experience with Data Warehouse database design required Demonstrated experience with Entity Relationship (ER), Dimensional, and object modeling techniques and tools such as ErWin. Thorough knowledge of data warehousing architectural approaches Knowledge of Data Warehouse practices, database and ETL design and analysis.
